The Indiana Department of Education awards nearly $2.2 million in STEM integration grants to 48 school districts and charter schools across the state of Hoosier. The grant will help schools integrate STEM opportunities into the classroom and improve access and support for students.

According to IDOE, 60% of this school year’s grantees intend to use the funds to develop or enhance the previously established STEM infrastructure to support applications for the STEM Certified Schools program.

“Through STEM education, our students build skills that will serve them throughout their lives, including problem solving, critical thinking, communication and digital literacy,” said Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner. “We also know that these important skills are essential to meeting the needs of our country’s future workforce.”
