A group tasked by the Indiana General Assembly to create a regional plan to increase wages, population and post-secondary education levels has released its plan, and the funding number it says is needed by the state.

The Northeast Indiana Strategic Development Commission (NEISDC) released its 2023-28 Strategic Plan on November 15, which includes a request for $75 million for regional investment, development and pioneering community support. The plan calls for state funds to be allocated in annual increments of $15 million to revitalize programs that ensure the region achieves talent attraction, retention, talent development and placement .
