Visit the beautiful blue France Park Waterfall in Indiana

Tucked away in Logansport, Indiana is a small park with a quarry, several stunning hiking trails, and plenty of places to relax. All of these things are part of why this park is so alluring, but there is one feature that draws people from all over the world and then keeps them coming back: the France Park Waterfall. So, yes, come to France Park for the recreational potential, but stay for that amazing little waterfall. We can’t get enough of it. Come out and see why France Park Falls is one of the coolest falls in Indiana and be sure to bring a camera – it’s incredibly photogenic.

This beautiful little area was once a quarry, extracting limestone and other goodies from the earth.

Now it’s a beautiful little park with plenty of activities to while away the time like camping, hiking, swimming, exploring and even scuba diving!

Formerly known as Kenneth Quarry, it’s a pretty decent place to park right next door and chill out for a whole day.

But there’s one thing about France Park that seems to draw people in better than anything else. Yes, the quarry is absolutely gorgeous (and the adjacent lake is to die for too), but it’s the beautiful blue France Park waterfall that really draws her in.

Crystal clear water cascades 15 feet down, flowing into Lake Elzbeker.

Within France Park there are five to seven miles of wonderful trails for hiking, biking or running – and most of them lead to or past the falls. It’s a popular destination in the warmer months. So if you are planning to visit it, arrive early and preferably during the week.

But even in the slower season – winter – it’s just divine.

What gives the water its mesmerizing blue-green color? Interestingly, this coloring is the result of minerals and limestone present in the area. The limestone here is of tremendous quality and this quarry used to produce literally tons of it every day.

It’s a little quieter here now, the sounds of industry and mining replaced by the howls and roars of children and adults alike having fun.

You can even camp here between May 1st and October 31st (camping is closed during the cold months). There are more than 200 campsites to choose from with a range of amenities. Other fun things to do here include things like the 24 hole disc golf course, fishing and even a bit of hunting.

This is also one of the few places in Indiana where you can go scuba diving.
So really come for the waterfall – but stay for everything else. France Park is an amazing little place full of wonder and intrigue and we have no doubt that you will love it. Check out this adorable France Park drone video to explore from your couch:
