10 ways to help out during vacations in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES – For many, the holiday season is a joyful time – a time for family meals, smiling children and presents under the tree. But for less fortunate families in our community, the holidays can be stressful. Of course, it’s also a time of giving, and Las Cruces doesn’t suffer from opportunities to give at this time of year.

Mike Cook from the Las Cruces Bulletin collected dozens of ways to help during the holiday season and shared his list with the Sun News to ensure it reaches as many residents as possible. We have selected 10 to share.

Toys for toddlers

US Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots of Doña Ana County is collecting new, unboxed toys for boys and girls ages 0-14 in over 150 donation boxes placed nationwide on November 1st. The most needed items are girls’ makeup, soccer balls, basketballs, games and other toys for children aged 8 and over, and cash to buy toys.
