Toys for Tots is looking for toy donations

The Marines for Chaves County Toys for Tots program is looking for toy donations for children who might otherwise not have toys for Christmas. The iconic Toys for Tots red train collection boxes can be found at local stores across the region, including the Roswell Daily Record. Toys should be new and unpackaged. The Gallery at Mainstreet Arts artist reception

The Gallery at Mainstreet Arts, 223 N. Main St., is inviting the public to its first annual artists’ reception from 5-7 p.m. All represented artists will be present. The artist’s mediums include acrylic, watercolor, ceramics, jewelry, photography, glass art, rope, metal and tie-dye. Refreshments served include hot chocolate, apple cider, and treats. Christmas at the cinema in the city center

MainStreet Roswell invites the public to a family vacation in downtown Roswell on both days. Friday is the annual Electric Light Parade and Santa will light the community Christmas tree at the Chaves County Courthouse. On Saturday, local vendors host a Christmas market and vendors have goodies in the courthouse and downtown. The events will conclude with a free film, The Polar Express, on the courthouse lawn. Santa’s talent scout

Santa’s Talent Search returns at 7:30 p.m. to the Roswell Community Little Theater, 1717 S. Union Ave. VIP tickets are available which include hot cocoa, crafts and pictures with Santa before the performance. The Matthew Palmer Band will also perform. Visit for more information.

Christmas bazaar

Assumption Catholic Church, 2808 N. Kentucky Ave., invites the public to its annual Christmas Bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parish hall south of the church. Come and enjoy homemade soups and breads while shopping in our bakery with homemade biscuits. All Inclusive Park Fundraiser at the Anderson Museum

The Kiwanis Club of Roswell is hosting a fundraiser for the all-inclusive park, which they partner with the Autism Society and the City of Roswell. The evening at the Anderson Museum begins at 7pm with singer/pianist Deb DeLucca in “The Carole King Tribute, Home Again”, hors d’oeuvres and a glass of champagne. There will also be a cash bar. Christmas train

Tickets for Roswell’s Christmas Railway are available now. Tickets include a reserved wagon ride, hot chocolate from “Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, The Amazing Light Maze, Snowfall Flats, Elf Town Play Area and Christmas Lights. The opening hours are 5-9 p.m. Visit for more information.

Open House of the Museum of Miniatures and Curious Collections

The public is invited to the free Miniatures and Curious Collections Museum open house at 320 N. Richardson Ave. invited to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the museum. Drive-through of lights

The Historical Society for Southeast New Mexico hosts the Drive-Thru of Lights as a thank you to the Society’s supporters throughout the year. The event includes special Christmas gift bags for the first 50 cars, hot cocoa, Christmas treats and selfies with Santa. Small change donations for the Society’s ongoing programs are welcome. Christmas bazaar

Vendors can now apply for the third annual Christmas Bazaar at Roswell Mall. The registration deadline is October 31st. All items must be handmade. RSO Christmas Classical Concert
