ROSEVILLE, Calif. – A new Mexican restaurant opens in Roseville, marking the first US location for a Mexico City-based eatery.

“Tacos is definitely the star in the restaurant but we have some Signature Plates that are amazing. My absolute favorite are the rib eye fajitas which are delicious iEcadent rib eye. It is topped with manchego cheese. It is served with a choice of hand made flour and corn tortilla that we make in house. It’s also topped with charred jalapenos and onions, [and] Potatoes,” said Peters.
La Popular is a collaboration between Mexican Grupo Carolo and Rockets + Pineapples, the team behind Eureka! restaurant group. A Eureka! The location is right next to La Popular.
“All Roseville residents have to try our desert rose cocktail. It comes in this really awesome cactus-looking mug. It’s a Hibiscus Lime infused Blanco Tequila and we have this huge tower in the bar area running through it – oa drop of tequila every three seconds, so a very slow drop”, said Peters.
She said the menu will keep signature dishes seasonal, but the restaurant always strives to evolve, so any changes in offerings are updated.
“We are excited to introduce a vibrant, authentic, homegrown Mexican restaurant in the United States. With its accessible menu and lively atmosphere, we hope La Popular becomes a gathering place for friends and family alike,” said Paul Frederick, Founder of Eureka! Restaurant Group and Rockets + Pineapps in a statement.
La Popular is located at 234 Gibson Drive, Suite 120. It is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to midnight.
Additional locations will open across the United States, including Austin, Texas in February 2023, as well as Claremont, California and Porter Ranch, California later next year.
