The New Mexico Lobos host the San Diego State Aztecs for an NCAAF contest Friday night. New Mexico is yet to win a game at the Mountain West this season and has just two games left to complete that task this season.
Despite their 6-0 conference record, they’ve shown all year that they can compete with certain teams. However, they usually have a quarter or two that go downhill and end up losing the game.
San Diego State played well at Mountain West. However, unless Fresno State loses their next two games, they have no chance of winning the conference. San Diego State is on a two-game winning streak and is 4-2 in the conference this season.

New Mexico vs. San Diego State Prediction
At this point in the season, New Mexico doesn’t have much to offer. They want to win at Mountain West, but the year is over in terms of postseason or bowl hopes. They have played disappointing football and a lot of that can be attributed to their inability to get anything going on either side of football.
Her two wins this season were against Maine and UTEP, which happened to happen in the first and third weeks of the season. New Mexico has lost seven games in a row. The football we saw from them was nothing but a disappointment.

They’re one of those teams that can’t play a full game. Their offense can come out and compete while their defense can’t be stopped. In other games, their defense can be stopped and their offense can’t get anything going. That will never be a recipe for success in college football.
San Diego State is a good team and a big part of that is due to quarterback Jalen Mayden. I’ve been impressed with what the junior QB has done in the last three games.
He has thrown for 215 in three of his last four games, including for 322 and 291 yards. He also pitched for eight touchdowns in that span.
If Mayden comes out and continues to dominate, San Diego State should walk away with an easy win. He flipped the ball a little more than I’d like, but I still don’t think New Mexico will stop against him. In addition to what he’s doing with his arm, he’s had 43+ yards on the ground in three of his last five.
San Diego State comes into this game as a 14.5 point favorite at odds of -105. However, I buy a point here and take it to the game of the day with -13.5. I’d rather play -125 odds than -105 odds and win this bet from two touchdowns.
