The New Mexico Artisan Market (NMAM) will be held this Thanksgiving weekend, November 25-27 at the Hotel Albuquerque in Old Town, 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW. The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation, the non-profit organization that oversees the handicraft market in partnership with Heritage Hotels, will showcase quality handcrafted products from New Mexico’s finest artisans.
“The Hotel Albuquerque is honored to bring back our New Mexico Artisan Market featuring 130 artisans,” said Randy Vasquez, general manager of the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. “Over the course of three days, our space is transformed into a highly curated experience filled with locally made goods and we invite everyone to shop.”
Over 100 select local artisans will be represented at NMAM, allowing visitors to explore the rich arts and culture of New Mexico. Artisans who are exceptional in their creative field will sell a mix of contemporary and traditional handcrafted styles. This year’s artisans span a range of styles, from woodworker Danny Hart to photographer Janet Maes Gagliano to Southwest Sigil Jewelery owner Emily Peck.
The New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the diverse cultures of the state of New Mexico and educating locals and visitors alike about those cultures. The tradition of connecting the community with artisans and manufacturers is at the core of the NMAM. The market’s mission is to support local businesses and authentically preserve the creative culture that has thrived for generations while looking to the future with visionary creations.
“Our entire team at Heritage Hotels is proud to be a national leader in promoting New Mexico culture and heritage through our hotels and with our artist collaborations,” said Molly Ryckman, vice president of sales and marketing for Heritage Hotels & Resorts. “Partnering with the New Mexico Multi-Cultural Foundation has enabled us to further strengthen New Mexico’s creative industries by supporting and nurturing our local creative talent.
